Hey everyone, it's been a while since our last update. Nothing new on maps realy in here, mostly mod and team info. Well, first off, I want to say that CMT now has an official myspace group, where like on the forums, members of the CMT group will be given alerts when there is an update, and better yet, you will see secret updates the rest of the public does not see, similar to the CMT members forum on our own forums. Anyway, if you have a myspace, just go here http://groups.myspace.com/halocmt and join. But back to what most of you care about... |

Yes, the Custom Mapping Team now has an IRC channel on GameSurge! Though it's empty at the moment, you can all join up and discuss CMT and their works. If nobody's there, or active, just come on in and idle! Our IRC channel is on GameSurge. Connect to irc.gamesurge.net on port 6667, and join #hcecmt. Until we decide to get a web-based java client, I would recommend mIRC or Trillian Basic for an IRC client if you don't have one, though there are plenty more out there. |

I just wanted to make you all aware on one subject that has increasing popularity on the forums: the campaign patch. I know we promised the patch within a couple weeks of the campaign release, but were were young and naive back then. We're currently working on optimizing the content to be lower-end PC and multiplayer-friendly. Click "read more" for the techincal details. |

Work on our multiplayer maps has been smooth sailing so far, for the most part. Other than Master’s BSODs, you could say everything is going as we would like it to. Conscars has been working on the new chat interface and Penguin has been extremely busy modeling two maps which are being revealed later in this update. Click READ MORE for the full story. |

Kornman00 is going to be leaving to serve in the US Army for four years today at 5:30 PM. Some of you newcomers to Halo CE may not know who he is, so to sum it up, he is one of the greatest, most contributing members of the Halo CE community. Without Kornman, almost everything we know about in Halo CE today would unheard of. Without him, the CMT mod, along with a lot of the best maps, would have never been possible, and the famous Project Yellow would have never seen the light of day.
If you have the time, please, for all of us, stop by this thread on the Gearbox Forums and say goodbye. He will be missed. =(

Happy 4th of July! So, here we are again, back on track with our regular updates. The winds have changed and we are finally switching from singleplayer to multiplayer. To do so, we have a nice, oh, let's just say, about...seven, maybe eight maps in development right now, with more to come. In this update, Arteen's latest map, Vestige, is being shown off. It is a large sized map with an icy, snowy theme to it. There are structures for the bases at both ends of the map, but to get from one to another, you have to either go through the snowy, hilly valley by vehicle, or take the center bridge by foot. There is a teleportation grid which runs throughout the map to aid the hitchhikers who are going nowhere fast get to their destination a little faster. The map is based around rundown forerunner architecture with many structures throughout the map to give shelter to the homeless and act as a pitstop for players. All of your favorite custom CMT singleplayer weapons will make their debut in this map to further enhance the player's experience. As for the patch for the campaign maps, it will be out soon enough... Feel free to discuss this story in our forums! |
